Top 5 Favourite Kitchen Products (Gift Guide)

Gifting season is almost upon us.

I’ve collated a stupendous list, including different price ranges of kitchen gift ideas, perfect for anyone - whether you’re a novice, or a seasoned home cook, they’re all great.

All these gift ideas are products that last years, that won’t break, or have lifetime/very long warranty.

  1. Le Creuset Cast Iron Shallow Casserole £££

I moved to London with 2 pans, and this one was one of them. It almost does it all, you can boil pasta in it, shallow/deep fry, stews, any types of sauces, pan fry veggies, fish, meats… But, it isn’t non-stick so don’'t think about cooking eggs in it unless you add about 1L of oil. It’s my most used pan, and it also has lifetime warranty… This pan will never break, you’ll be passing it down to the next generation - and that’s why its the perfect gift.

  2. 30cm Olivewood Spatulas £

I can’t believe I’m talking about these spatulas again… but honestly they’re the best. My mum bought hers about 9 years ago, and they get better with age. They don’t damage your pans, they’re make of olive wood, there’s no plastic, and their shape gives them versatility.

  3. Japanese Ceramics £-£££

I love ceramics from everywhere but the majority of my collection is Japanese. They have such a large array of shapes, colours, and textural components, which makes for eye-catching and gorgeous pieces. All my ceramics come from a japanese shop in Geneva, right behind Manor called Yügen Lab, but you can find many online at different price points.

  4. Kitchenaid Mini Food Chopper ££

This is probably my most used gadget in the kitchen. If i’m too lazy to chop stuff, I throw it in there and it does it for me. It also ‘grates’ cheese really well, and I also use it to make all types of sauces/dips - pesto, hummus, mayo/aioli… It’s dishwasher safe which is a big bonus.

  5. Lodge Skillet Round £

I bought a cast iron skillet just like this in Geneva, my dad loved it so much that he asked me to leave it there for him to use. With cast iron skillets, the more you use them, the more seasoned they get, which means they basically become non-stick (but without the nasty toxic chemicals non-stick pans have). They also conduct heat excellently and their surface means everything will cook really evenly, and become crunchy. Lodge also makes great quality cast iron products that last a lifetime, but for a very decent price. I love the small size - it’s perfect to cook eggs, rösti, and and 1-2 man dish.

I hope this short list has inspired you for this gifting season. Please continue to support local businesses, buy them from small independent shops, and buy long lasting products.
